What foods give energy?

Bean for breakfast?   I have been getting really serious about losing weight.  I have been trying to think of foods that make me full  without feeling sluggish.  The first food that came to mind is "beans", but then I thought, beans for breakfast that doesn't sound right but then again why not beans.  I ate about 1 cup of pinto beans with jiffy cornbread.  Two hours later, I am still full and energized. I still am trying the coconut oil and getting great results and no gas. I think the coconut oil stopped the gas.  Any one know foods that energize?  Please help
